Glycemic Index Chart for Common Foods

What's the Glycemic Index?

The glycemic index rates foods by how much they raise blood glucose. Processed sweets like candy, sugar, cake and cookies have a high glycemic index, while whole-grains have a lower glycemic index. Knowing the GI of the foods you eat can help you keep your blood sugars on an even keel.
