Type 2 diabetes is being diagnosed at increasingly younger ages. It used to be thought of as disease that strikes people in their forties, but now young adults in their late teens and early twenties are at risk. Obesity plays a major role in type 2 diabetes. The rising obesity rates among young adults can lead to an early type 2 diabetes diagnosis.
