Here are three variations of a recipe for dark chocolate treats using two ingredients. These are simple, fast and satisfying snacks that can fulfill sweet, salty, fat, crunchy and chocolate cravings.
Nuts can be salted or unsalted dry-roasted walnuts, almonds, pistachios, peanuts or mixed nuts. The chocolate should be semisweet or bittersweet. Semisweet usually has slightly more sugar than bittersweet. These treats are nutritious, low-carb and diabetes friendly.
If you want to make smaller amounts or a single serving, mix one part nuts to two parts chips.
Recipe for Dark Chocolate Nut Treats with Three Variations
Ingredients:
- 1 cup dry roasted nuts
- 2 cups semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips (approximately 12 oz.)
Variation 1: Mix the nuts and chocolate chips together as a trail mix.
Variation 2: Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds and stir. If the chocolate is not completely melted, repeat heating for a few seconds and stirring until the chocolate is completely melted. Stir in the nuts. Enjoy the gooey goodness.
Variation 3: Follow the instructions for variation 2, but spread the mixture out onto a cookie sheet covered with wax paper and refrigerate for about an hour or until the mixture is hardened like a nut bark. Break up into bite-sized pieces.
