If you use a diabetic exchange list for meal planning, it can make figuring out your daily nutritional needs easier. Most everyday foods can be found on a diabetic exchange list. But what about foods commonly eating on special occasions? There are times when you'd like to celebrate with everyone else.

Can you splurge and have a piece of birthday cake or a dish of ice cream? Yes -- when you count exchanges. Use this chart to figure out exchanges for foods commonly found at celebrations.
