American Diabetes Month and World Diabetes Day

Get ready, American Diabetes Month starts today, November 1, with World Diabetes Day on November 14.  Have you participated in the past?  What do you recommend and how have you felt it made a difference?

The past couple years I participated in The Big Blue Test.  This is where you test your blood sugar, exercise for a few minutes, and then test again.  You not only get to see what a big difference it makes your your blood sugar, but what a difference it makes for others. The results are very eye opening.

The Big Blue Test is a program from the Diabetes Hands Foundation, and last year they raised enough money from video views to give 2000 children insulin in third-world countries.  The funds were provided by Roche Diabetes Care, the makers of the ACCU-CHEK meter.  This year they are making an additional donation when someone does the Big Blue Test.  So head on over there and make a life-saving difference with a very simple act.

Thank you for the valuable information. As I am diabetic I use Natvia as a regular sweetener. Please keep posting.
