Swine Flu Named a Pandemic by WHO

Friday June 12, 2009
The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that the swine flu (H1N1) virus is now being considered a pandemic. The virus first appeared in Mexico in April of this year and now has been identified in 74 countries. There are almost 30,000 cases around the world with 141 deaths, so far. New cases are being diagnosed everyday.

What does this mean for people with chronic diseases like diabetes? If you have diabetes, your risk of serious complications and symptoms is increased, if you get the flu. Even though most cases of swine flu appear to be mild, it's important to take precautions. There is no vaccination for H1N1 virus yet, so protecting yourself from getting the flu is your best approach.

According to the WHO, here are some facts about swine flu:

  • Symptoms usually similar to seasonal flu
  • It is a new version of the H1N1 strain which caused the 1918 flu pandemic
  • Current treatments do work, but as yet there is no vaccine
  • Good personal hygiene, such as washing hands, covering nose when sneezing advised

I took the ‘regular’ flu shot last year and I was throwing up for a week and then I got sick for about three weeks with a lot of the symptoms of the ‘Flu’ and so when I am pressured to take this ‘helpful’ shot this year I will refuse it since when Carter was Prez, he forced the military to take it and it was very healthy, it helped them to die and thats not what I want and I didn’t enjoy being sick for nearly a month, but I have not been eating as much Pig meat since it has a lot of salt and this is Pig Flu so thats just an additional reason and if the Pig people could use some less salt, that might get me to use more, but they claim they have to and I have to avoid a lot since I have high blood pressure and I didn’t enjoy being sick for nearly a month as a proverbial dog myself. I am expecting the ‘experts’ to pressure people to take the Pig Flu shot since its cooler weather at that time. I haven’t had a problem with the lung sickness so I didn’t mind this so much. I believe the reason why Pig Flu went worldwide and got those ‘experts’ to declare it a ‘epidemic’ is because Mexico is where many worldwide give there jobs away all over the world and so this passes the germs along with all of the bad sides of less jobs here in America, just being honest and it will continue to be passed along with giving away our jobs all over the world mostly Mexico and so I expect more pig flu in world.

I sure hope another Pandemic does not hit our world again. I can’t bear to see that many people die!! Hopefully it will stay out of the US again.
