Protect Yourself from Swine Flu

Wednesday May 13, 2009
The new H1N1 flu virus, commonly known as Swine Flu, is slowly making it's way across the states. Flu viruses can put people with chronic diseases, like diabetes, at serious risk for hospitalization or even death. The CDC says that swine flu is spread by coughing and sneezing. Regular seasonal influenza viruses spread the same way.

How can you protect yourself from swine flu? The CDC recommends these common sense ways to avoid getting sick.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective
  • Try to avoid being around people who have the flu.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth to avoid transferring the virus.
  • Stay home from work or school if you get sick. Limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
  • If you have the flu, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and toss the tissue in the trash after you use it.

How do you take care of your diabetes if you do get the flu?

I didn’t read any of this pig flu information at all, I have a real life.

I am eating less Pork since they have less Pig and although I am sure there is a relationship despite to the pig farmers, but I have high blood pressure and if there is not more salt, its just going higher for sentimental reasons when I eat Pig meat. I had a ‘regular’ flu shot last year and I was sick as a dog for week and then I had congestion from nearly early November to Christmas so the no sugar cough syrup is what helped me, NOT the FDA approved Bull, so if I have half a brain and I don’t want to throw up for a week, Pig Flu Friends would love this, I am not going to have that fun. Many military died with Carter when they got this bad shot so I want to be healthy, not do what I am told, and refuse to get sick when I said yes to the cure all shot last year. Don’t go to Mexico is a good start and don’t support ‘Free Trade’ unless you want to encourage more pig flu, I am sick of this pig flu. I look forward to having real health news. CDC is Complete Dummy Concocted FDF not FDA Full of Deadly Foolishness

I just got back from Hongkong where is the most effected area of swine flu or H1N1 flu. I believe the most important and the easiest way to protect yourself from swine flu or H1N1 flu is that you have to often wash your hands with soap, in this way you can get rid of most of infection. Actually, we do not get direct touchs with people a lot, bu we always touch things which are touched by others, so just wash hands : )
