Are You at Risk for Type 2 Diabetes?

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), 1n 2002, at least 54 million American adults had prediabetes.
A diagnosis of prediabetes does not automatically mean that it will progress to type 2 diabetes. A lot depends on the person who is diagnosed. Prediabetes is also known as impaired glucose tolerance or insulin resistance. Most of the time, insulin resistance is a result of excess weight and a sedentary lifestyle. It is possible to reverse prediabetes by losing weight and increasing physical activity.
