Achieve That Healthy Weight

Sunday July 22, 2007

Being overweight makes it harder to manage your diabetes. Extra pounds can effect how your body uses insulin. Fat cells are more resistant to insulin than muscle cells, so the more body fat you have, the harder it is to control your blood glucose.

A weight loss of just 10 to 20 pounds can go a long way towards helping you control your diabetes. Eating more vegetables, fruits and fiber, and exercising for 30 minutes 5 times a week can help you achieve this goal.
