Which Medications for Type 2 Diabetes are Good Alternatives to Avandia?

Now that Avandia has been shown to cause heart attacks and other fatal cardiovascular events, you may be wondering which classes of oral medications are still okay to take. Avandia and Actos are in the class of thiazolidinediones, but there are several drug classes still available which do not cause cardiac side effects.
