What Kind Of Exercise Do You Do?

Tuesday April 24, 2007

This week's poll asks "What kind of exercise do you do?"

Getting enough exercise and making healthy food choices can help prevent not only type 2 diabetes, but heart disease, strokes, atherosclerosis and some kinds of cancers as well.

3 weeks ago, we ran a poll, asking people "How often do you exercise?". 180 people have responded, so far. The results break down this way: 114 people, or 62%, put in at least 30 minutes when they exercise. 66 people, or 38%, do 20 minutes or less.

Of the people who exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, 94 of them log at least 5 days a week. 51% of all the people who participated in this poll get the recommended amount of exercise to keep them healthy.

An article titled America's healthy living habits: How do you compare? that appeared January 7th, 2007 on CNN.com, indicated that only 6% of Americans get 30 minutes of exercise a day. That means that, as a group, the people who participated in our Diabetes.About.com poll totally rock when it comes to exercise! Keep up the good work!
